Army Dressage Team 2019
Maj Laura Mitchell is a Regular with 1 Inv Coy, SIB Regt, AGC (RMP). She joins us as a new member of the team with her horse Mystiko Boy (Joey). Maj Mitchell impressed us all with not only her basic way of going, but also her determination to progress her riding outside of team training. She will ride in the Preliminary classes for 2019, with the view to progress to Novice later in the year. She also aims to qualify for Petplan Area Finals this year.
Maj Sophie Gregory is a Regular Dentist with 4 AMR. She joins us from the 2018 ADT with Firefoxx (Felix). Maj Gregory will be competing at Novice and Elementary for the team in 2019, with the view to move to Medium level later in the year. The combination were the UKAF Dressage Champions at Elementary level at 2018 last year and aim to maintain this level throughout 2019.
Capt Emma Lee-Smith is Reservist with 677 Sqn 6AAC. She joins us from the 2018 ADT with her horse Barny’s Diamond Smuggler (Dan). Capt Lee-Smith will be riding at Elementary and Medium level for events in 2019 and is also off to the British Dressage Regionals this month to compete in Elementary Silver, Novice Silver and Elementary Freestyle classes.
Capt Katy Robson is a Reservist based with PRUN (AGC). She joins us from the 2018 ADT with her horse Aristoteles (Harry). Capt Robson will be riding at Elementary and Medium classes for the team this year, with the hope to progress to Advanced Medium later in the year. She has already qualified for the Medium Bronze section of Petplan Area Finals 2019.
LSgt Laura Perry is a Regular Veterinary Technician with HCMR. She joins us as a new member of the team with her horse Talavera. She caught our eye at the UKAF Dressage Champs 2018 where she was the overall champion. Talavera is also a military working horse and aside from competing at Prelim and Novice level for the team in 2019, he’ll also be involved in the Queen’s Birthday Parade!
LCpl Sarah Karim is a Reservist RMP with 116 Pro Coy. She was the Army Dressage Team Manager in 2018 and will continue this role in 2019. This year she also plans to ride at some of the events wherever possible with Utopie-S (Mr T), who she rides for owner Iris Calthorpe. They will ride at Medium level for the team in 2019, with the hope to progress to Advanced Medium later in the year.
