Rider - LCoH R Raffel

Horse - Eros

Richard joined the Army in 2004 in the Household Cavalry. After a long period on ceremonial parades and Queens Life Guard he became a military instructor in 2008. After a two year posting to Paderborn, Germany in 2012 he returned back to London in 2014 along with his current horse Eros. Purchased as a 3 year old from Holland he broke and trained him at home.

The pair are competing regularly at BS showjumping and hunter trials and Eros is proving to be confident. Over the last 18 months they have been jumping at height between 1.05m and 1.25m. Varied between British Showjumping, unaffiliated and army competitions.

Eros stepped up to senior competitions at the Royal Tournament in Melton Mowbray Oct 2016 jumping between 1.10m and 1.25m narrowly missing out on a qualification for Olympia. Eros can be very keen to jump making training sometimes challenging. They currently have lessons with Lorna Palmer who has really helped them develop over the last year working on being relaxed to get the best out of Eros. Richard feels they still have a long way to go but are progressing well.
